Autumn is a beautiful time, the leaves are changing colour and falling from the trees. There are new sights and scents that come with the change in season, and suddenly everything is red, brown and gold. The temperature has dropped and with it comes that spectacular sky and its clear autumn sunsets.
The summer months are great, but it can be stiflingly hot sometimes and riding your bicycle can seem like a monumental effort. The colder temperatures of Autumn can be a welcome relief. As well as the cooler temperature, you are more likely to have the routes to yourself compared to the busy summer holiday months of the year.
Let’s be honest, we all love the gadgets and apparel that go with our sport of choice and Autumn gives you the perfect opportunity to use them. Lightweight raincoats, lights, torches, thermal undies. Autumn is the perfect time to test the clothing and gadgets that wouldn’t see the light of day in Summer.
Autumn is bonfire season and around Camber you have loads to choose from! The South East of England has a thriving bonfire community running throughout the colder months. Rye Bonfire (10th November 2018) is the closest one but there are plenty more to choose from in the surrounding areas. You will also find the South Coast a great place to visit for Halloween so why not combine your cycling break with a few days making the most of the festivities?
There are some great cycling routes in this area, if you fancy the ride from Rye to Lydd via Camber you can find the route here. There are many more to choose from and you can hire bikes and equipment from eBikes to make it even easier to get away without having to pack your bikes!
If you choose to stay with us here at Camber Getaways, after a long day on the road taking in the sights, you will have a warm dry bed in a luxury holiday let. We have caravans, lodges and holiday homes all available to rent. Contact us today to see what we can do for you.
