Parkdean Resorts has a whole wealth of tricks up its sleeve when it comes down to facilities, from Swimming to Crazy Golf to Soft Play. Its safe to say the kids wont get bored while staying here, but its certainly true that not all facilities will be appealing to everyone. So below i have given you the lowdown on what the Park Facilities are, and where we rate them on the Fun-factor.
So lets start with SWIMMING POOLS, the Park has 4 indoor pools plus a large flume which weaves in and out of the pools complex. All pools are for adults and children, but 1 especially is kept seperate for babies, which is ideal for littles ones taking their first swim. The large pool features the lazy river, a firm favourite with lots of the kids. The pool team have their own activity schedule running, which offers sessions such as paddleboats and inflatables, so be sure to check the timetable for this.
What a lot of people dont realise is there is also a small SPA area in the complex, which is for adults only. This is a private room containing a jacuzzi pool and sauna, which can be hired out at one of the time slots throughout the day. There is a small charge but it is worth it for a little piece of R&R.
Whilst we are on the theme of water, the Park now boasts an outdoor SPLASHZONE. Quite honestly its the highlight for a lot of kids on a hot day, with buckets of water tipping everywhere, jets shooting from who knows where and a lot of sprinklers dotted around the place. Kids love it, and the best bit is you can sit watching from the pub benches while soaking up the sun.
Now if you have a football mad kid, or adult for that matter, they will love the SPORTS GROUND, an area with basketball hoops and football nets up ready for action. This is the perfect spot to make new friends and is always busy with games going on. Most of the games are organised amongst the people hanging around, but during the school holidays the Park often run additional organised activites for kids of all ages.
Without a doubt, the most competitive area is the CRAZY GOLF, because we all know someone who thinks they are great at it ... but are actually useless! There is a small fee for the crazy golf, but in my opionion its worth it, and my little tip is - you can keep going round as many times as you want in one session!
For the little ones there is the SOFT PLAY area, which is tucked away in the newly refurbed Boathouse surrounded by booths and tables. Its ideal to keep the kids entertained while waiting for dinner, and keeps them away from wanting to have any screen time. Even if you arent eating, you can grab a drink and chill in the area while the kids play.
The boasthouse also offers LIVE SPORTS on the screens scattered around the restaurant. There is usually a good turnout for football games, so is a lovely sociable spot to hangout and cheer on your team.
Every evening brings LIVE BINGO, a chance for you to win money, promo goods and occasionally even a free holiday staying with the Park. Adults have to be 18 to play, but they do allow kids at the tables with you whilst you play, which my neice is delighted about! As long as the adult is playing and claims any win, kids can now be a little more involved by sitting and watching the numbers with you.
SPARKYS KREW is what every child will remember from the holiday. There are now a number of characters which make up the krew, all of who host different activities from story time, games, dancing and many more. The activites run throughout the day, more so during the school holidays, but even in the quieter times there is a programme which will keep the little ones fully entertained. They also offer breakfast time with the characters, which is very exciting for the younger ones!
The showbar hosts the majority of the LIVE ENTERTAINMENT, this can be anything from X-Factor stars to the Parks own team of entertainers, who shouldnt be dismissed, as they are extremely talented with some really cool shows put on for your enjoyment. We have seen all kinds of acts perform here, including the legendary Craig David a couple of years ago!!
During the evenings, if you fancy a break from all the Razzmataz, you can head to the ARCADES, which is open all day everyday. Here you can compete against your family in games including air hockey, basket ball, tenpin bowling, the list goes on. You can also head to the penny pushers, or play some ticket machines in the hope of collecting enough and winning some exciting prizes.
The park has 2 OUTDOOR PLAYPARKS, both of a decent size. 1 is located outside by the splashzone, the other is found in the centre circle of Willow Way (an area of caravans). Both are open all year round, so if you do choose to visit during the winter months these are always available.
The last thing worthy of a mention is food options, which include BOATHOUSE RESTAURANT, THE CHIPPY and during the summer months an outdoor BBQ area. There is also a convenience store which caters for the basics you may need during your stay. Of course all of our accommodation includes everything for self catering, so if you would rather cook than eat out you will find everything you need.
So there is our run down, which i think proves there is just so much to do during a break at the Park. Dont forget during School Holidays there is so many more activities put on, including easter egg hunts, trick or treating and all whats inbetween.
Now sit down with the kids, decide a date for them to enjoy all of the above, and get booking from as little as £50 deposit!
